Letter from the owner
Brief auf Deutsch

Dear Customer:

Since we are a well-known company in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, there is a good chance you know about the way we operate our business. But if you don't, please read the following information.

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Karl W. Schmidt. I am the owner of the company. I started working as an apprentice in 1964 in Germany, and have been working in this trade since then.

Because I am an extremely handy, fast, organized and well-equipped tradesman, all the jobs will be done by my company. That means I will not bring in any subcontractors. I do not smoke. The jobsite will be kept clean, and the job will be finished as quickly as possible.

Because of my experience in all areas of the construction business, I will always investigate the cause of a problem (ie. a leak), even if it comes from the roof or siding, etc.

If we put in a new floor, generally the old vinyl floor, and if necessary even the sub-floor, will be removed. Most other companies put the new floor on top of the old floor, because it is easier!

To replace a window, my company will remove your old window, including the frame, install the new window and seal the space with foam, unlike most other companies, who just install the new window into the old frame, because it is easier!

Ceramic tiles will be installed in a skilled manner. All edges and corners will be done with quality silicone (mildew-resistant). It will look very neat and clean, like from a factory, not ugly and smeared like you see at so many places.

To install a new bathtub, I will make sure it doesn't slope, so the water doesn't run on your floor when you have a shower.

The only problems occur when there is material defect from the factory. This can occasionally happen. Because of my critical eyes, however, I most likely will detect this before you do, and will replace the defective part before it causes problems. For this reason, I would like to supply the material, if possible.

The price I give on the estimate will be the price on the invoice. When comparing estimates, remember that there is always a price difference for different materials. This means that a competitor's price may be cheaper just because he uses cheaper material.

Therefore, my price is always negotiable, as long as you call me and discuss it with me.

This is my honest way to let you benefit from my excellent ability to do bathroom and kitchen renovations. Best references are available. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Karl W. Schmidt
